PVA Med Announces Emily Patterson as New Director
PVA Med is proud to announce that Emily Patterson has been appointed Director of PVA Med, following the retirement of Rick Noel.
Prior to this role, Emily served as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist for five years at both Sampson’s P&O Laboratory and Hanger Clinic in Upstate New York. She specialized in prosthetic care, working with patients ranging from transtibial amputees to hip disarticulations. Working alongside a skilled in-house fabrication team allowed her to strengthen both her technical expertise and patient care experience.
During her clinical career, Emily developed extensive experience with both traditional and digital fabrication methods. Her work included fiberglass casting, plaster mold modification, scanning, digital modifications, 3D printing, and carving. Over the past three years, she has integrated PVA Med’s Rapid Plaster®, Emergence-PRO™, and Carver PRO-S™ into her workflow—gaining deep hands-on experience with digital manufacturing technology. She has also trained fellow clinicians on PVA Med products and developed workflow resources to support their successful implementation.
Originally from Louisiana, Emily has lived in Upstate New York for the past three and a half years. She holds a Master’s Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Baylor College of Medicine and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Engineering from Louisiana State University. Her residency rotations took her across the country—including Texas, Seattle, Boston, and Baltimore—where she gained exposure to diverse patient populations, business models, and fabrication methods.
In her new role, Emily aims to advance lean manufacturing principles and expand PVA Med’s digital workflow integration, empowering clinics and fabrication labs worldwide to operate more efficiently and effectively.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys yoga, quilting, antique shopping, attending concerts, cheering on LSU from afar, and spending time with friends and family.
